Sarah puts her passions into action. She has been recognized by her alma mater for her leadership, academic excellence, and dedication to multiple arts organizations and activist efforts, including a rally and march to an anti-discrimination ordinance vote. After graduating, she moved to Boston to begin her career as artistic advocate and educator, beginning at Boch Center's City Spotlights Summer Leadership Program, where she taught teenagers how to use the performing arts as a vehicle for social change. Sarah believes that theater and music allow us to understand just a little bit more of what it means to be a human being, and, with this, provides fertile ground for social change and community engagement.
Sarah has performed in numerous shows with her favorites including Next to Normal (Diana), Three Sisters (Irina), Big Love (Thyona), and Fiddler on the Roof (Chava). She is trained in classical voice, modern dance, improvisation, and acting technique. She hopes to apply her performance and production skills to creating theatre for and with those who have experienced trauma, as well as work to make the arts accessible to all through community programs and arts advocacy.
Sarah graduated Cum Laude with a B.A in History and Theatre from Dickinson College in May 2017. Her senior project used the production of Next to Normal, to address mental health stigmatization and the gaps in wellness resources on campus. Sarah currently interns for Urbanity Dance, working to expand their community programs reaching homeless women and incarcerated youth.
